Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations and gather detailed medical histories for pediatric patients.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses and injuries in infants, children, and adolescents.
  • Administer vaccinations and provide preventive care services, including health screenings and developmental assessments.
  • Manage chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and obesity, tailoring treatment plans to individual patient needs.
  • Offer guidance on nutrition, exercise, and behavioral health issues.
  • Educate parents and guardians about developmental milestones, health promotion, and preventive measures.
  • Provide counseling and support for families dealing with health-related concerns or complex medical conditions.
  • Develop and communicate individualized care plans and ensure understanding of treatment options and next steps.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of patient interactions, diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Ensure documentation complies with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, specialists, and social workers, to provide coordinated care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families, addressing their questions and concerns with clarity and empathy.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and contribute to team-based care strategies.
  • Adhere to established medical protocols, guidelines, and procedures to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Stay current with advancements in pediatric medicine through continuing education and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, including patient privacy and safety standards.
  • Participate in clinic meetings and contribute to the development and review of patient care policies and procedures.
  • Support administrative tasks, such as scheduling follow-up appointments and coordinating care with other healthcare providers.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinic operations.
