Role & Responsibilities

  • Collect, label, and process patient specimens (blood, urine, swabs) in compliance with established protocols and biohazard safety standards.
  • Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and immunology using automated analyzers and manual methods.
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Execute quality control procedures and document QC results, participating in internal audits and corrective actions to maintain ISO 15189 accreditation.
  • Maintain accurate test records and patient results within the Laboratory Information System (LIS), ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with pathologists and senior technologists to escalate critical values and support continuous process improvement initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a clinical laboratory environment.
  • Proficiency in hematology, clinical biochemistry, microbiology, and immunology assays.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 15189 quality management systems and biosafety protocols.
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and accurate data entry.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and adherence to safety procedures.

Preferred

  • Professional certification (e.g., ASCP, IBMS) or equivalent accreditation.
  • Experience with molecular diagnostics (PCR) or immunoassay platforms.
  • Familiarity with ISO accreditation processes and laboratory audits.
  • Exposure to Lean Six Sigma principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Arabic.
