Purpose of the Role:
The CCTV Operator is responsible for monitoring and operating closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems to ensure the safety and security of people, property, and premises. The role requires high attention to detail, quick decision-making, and adherence to security protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor live and recorded CCTV footage to identify suspicious or unusual activities.
- Operate and control CCTV equipment and report incidents immediately to the appropriate authorities or departments.
- Maintain detailed records of incidents, system faults, or any suspicious observations.
- Coordinate with security personnel on the ground to ensure a quick and effective response.
- Regularly check that all CCTV systems and equipment are functioning properly and report malfunctions.
- Ensure data protection and confidentiality protocols are followed while handling surveillance footage.
- Retrieve, copy, and archive footage as required by management or legal authorities.
- Follow company security procedures and contribute to a safe and secure environment.
Requirements:
- Diploma or equivalent (Diploma or Certificate in security systems is a plus).
- Proven experience in a similar CCTV monitoring or security role is preferred.
- Familiarity with security camera systems and video surveillance software.
- Excellent observation and analytical skills.
- Ability to remain alert and focused during long monitoring periods.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Basic computer literacy.
Working Conditions:
- Rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- May require working in a control room environment for extended periods.
