About the role:
Responsible for ensuring that patient care is delivered in accordance with established policies and procedures, nursing standards, evidence-based practice in line with the Department Health Professionals (DHP) nursing regulations and scope of practice for registered nurses within the State of Qatar. Also, responsible for the delivery of professional quality and safe patient care to the patients and their families across QR Medical facilities in various special areas.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled, safe, holistic direct nursing care for patients and their families across several facilities in a range of specialty settings such as aeromedical, primary care, occupational health and employee health nursing ensuring that care delivered meets professional standards and evidence-based practice.
- Function at all times, in accordance with the legislative, regulatory and policy guidelines relevant to registered nursing practice and scope of practice for the State of Qatar.
- Support day to day running of the facility ensuring a high standard of direct nursing care to the patients.
- Maintain and demonstrate clinical competence in all aspects of care provided to QR patients across the various specialties.
- Develop, implement, evaluate and document patient’s plan of care, providing key inputs into delivery of care.
- Administer medications and therapies as prescribed, in a safe, timely and effective manner in accordance with QR pharmacy and MOPH guidelines for the safe administration of medication.
- Communicate with patients and families ensuring patients and families are fully informed and that informed consent is obtained for any treatments in line with international standards and the QR consent policy.
- Attend to emergency/crisis situations calmly and effectively.
- Accept accountability for own actions and decision-making for the related outcome.
- Maintain and promote customer satisfaction through effective customer service.
- Support senior nurse to ensure patient flow, access and timeliness to appointments are achieved.
- Responsible for and knowledgeable about the safe use of all clinical and non-clinical equipment used within the area ensuring this is checked and maintained and where there are issues this is resolved so that equipment is fit for purpose.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications
About You:
- Advanced Diploma in Nursing and/or Midwifery (minimum 3/4 years duration) with minimum 4 yrs of Job related experience OR Bachelor of Science (BSc., BSN, or BA Nursing (or similar) in General Nursing (with an Adult Focus) with minimum 3 yrs of job related experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience – must have completed preceptorship training post qualification.
- Valid nursing license In Qatar or eligibility for license with the DHP in the State of Qatar
- Minimum of 3+ Years’ of post nursing registration clinical experience in a clinically relevant specialty
- Experience in Primary Care / OPD / Emergency Care / ICU
- Experience in Triaging assessment and history taking
- Experience in electronic record keeping and accountability
- Immediate Life Support / Advanced Life Support certification is an added advantage
- Knowledge of legislative, regulatory & policy guidance relevant to the nursing and midwifery practice
- Knowledge of clinical nursing practice in healthcare environment i.e. hospital/large primary care organization/
- Ability to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
- Command of English language
Preferred
- Post Graduate/Diploma Qualification in the following areas are preferred – Emergency Care, Flight nursing, Primary care or ICU in an Adult setting
- Certification of nursing specialty (aviation nursing, primary care, emergency care, occupational health)
- Experience and/or knowledge of working within the aviation industry
- Experience and/or knowledge of working within Aeromedical/Flight Escort Nursing, Primary Care, Occupational Health Nursing or Emergency care nursing.
